Weekend away!

Hello again! Well, my new favorite thing in the whole world is opening cabinets! Mama has put some make shift child protection on the cabinets that have things I should not play with but I still love to pull out what I can get my hands on. Here I found the Reynolds Wrap and though it was so funny. Dada quickly put it back in the cabinet so I would not hurt my little fingers. He is going to do some serious "me" proofing this weekend.

This weekend, I spent the entire time with Mimi and Grandpa. I always have such a fun time at their house and they always love having me there! Mama, Dada, BB and Miss Weldon went to New Orleans for Tante Erin and Mr Fred's engagement party that they helped host. They had so much fun but really missed me! Mama dropped me off at school Friday morning and Mimi picked me up for the weekend.
Here I am sporting my new Halloween shirt that they bought for me and building with blocks. Who knows? I could be an engineer like Grandpa. As you can see, I am truly talented. I have to be honest though, Grandpa helped me...but just a little!
Here I decided that I wanted to try out Aunt Maggie's toys. She was nice to share with me. I tend to follow the pattern that I love to play with the toys that do not belong to me. I chose the Basketball first and that made Dada very proud!
Once again, I have a basket full of my toys but I want Aunt Maggie's toys!
Mimi and Grandpa have a coy pond in their back yard. Mimi has been trying to get me to take a picture by it for weeks and I finally gave her the shot that she wanted! It was worth the wait. Mama has been sharing this one with all of her friends and thinks I look like an angel! I am wearing my first pair of overalls. They are pink and Dada bought them for me!
This weekend, I also went shopping for my first pair of real shoes! I acted perfect in the store even though all of the other children were crying. I wear a size four. My first real shoes are brown with pink on them and are perfect for school.
The next day, I went to church at Ascension and played in the nursery. They were so nice to me and I really had a great time! I also was dressed in another outfit from Mr Warren and Miss Brandi! The person in the picture with me took a special interest in me (probably because I am so cute!)
After church, we went back to Mimi and Grandpa's for lunch. I thought since Maggie shared her toys with me that I would be nice and share my food with her. Here, it looks like I am telling her to sit...I am the Dog Whisperer!
After Lunch, Mimi took me back to my house and put me down for a nap. When I woke, Mama and Dada were home and I was so glad to see them! I gave them really big smiles and hugs all around! I am really teething right now so they bought me some teething tablets and they really work. I think that I am trying to get a couple of new ones on the bottom and I am sure that some will arrive shortly on the top. I am growing and growing!

Yea Alabama!

This weekend, Nana and Pops came to visit and we had so much fun. It all started with them arriving and making the wonderful suggestion to eat some Hamburger Heaven! I got to eat a grilled cheese and a few french fries! I do not like ketchup though! Then I played with Nana on the floor. She read me books, played with my puzzle, rolled the ball to me, and sang! Pops is so proud that when he says "will you gives Pops some lovin," I put my head on his shoulder and give him a hug. It makes him melt and Mama and Dada jealous! They watched the Alabama game, which we won, and then hit the hay. Nana and Pops left the next morning and I was really sad to see them go! I will get to see them soon though (I know this because they miss me just as much!) Then Mama went to the doctor because she was feeling pretty lousy to find out that she had walking pneumonia! Dada was not feeling good either so to be safe, I stayed with Mimi and Grandpa Sunday night.
This is a picture of me and Mama Saturday. I look so pretty in my Alabama outfit the Mr Warren and Miss Brandi gave me! They have made sure that I am stylin!
Dada wanted a picture with me too. I feel like a celebrity with the paparazzi following me all of the time!
Wednesday, Mama picked me up early from school so that we could spend some extra time together. Here, she caught me in the act of climbing the stairs. There are only three of them so I am pretty safe on them but I think that I am such a big girl! I like to climb them when it is time for my bath. Then I crawl into the bathroom and pull up on the side of the tub and wait for Mama or Dada to run the water.
This is me next to Dada's crock! Mama thought it was cute because you can see my little "puty" next to it and it shows you just how little I am...or does it show you just how big Dada's feet are? :-)
Friday night, I decided that it was not my bedtime so Mama got me out of bed and Dada read me the peekaboo bedtime book and Nana and Pops gave me. Once again, when I am not in bed when I know that I am supposed to be, I get a silly grin on my face and savor every minute of spending extra time with my parents. I stayed up until 9:00!
Saturday morning, while I was trying to have my picture taken, Sister decided that she wanted in on the action! She loves playing with me and is the best big sister. I hope that I can be a good big sister like her!
Then it was game time again! This time it was in the morning and I could watch some of it. My friend Georgia Jayne (along with her parents, Curt and Heather) came over and we had a blast together. She kept trying to hug me! Here she is sitting in my high chair and I am trying to take her food! She loved the banana cookie!
Mr Stephen and Miss Katie also came over. I am starting warm up to guys now so I let him hold me for a little bit. I was napping most of the time while they were there but Mama got me up just before they left. Mr Brian also came over. It was a grand old time. I tried hummus and spinach dip for the first time! Alabama won again! Roll Tide!
Sunday, Mama and Dada took me to the Tot Lot in Crestline. The last time that Mama took me, I had so much fun in the swing. This time, I was not so sure about it. I smiled a little but not a whole lot.
Then we decided to try the tunnel out and once again, I was a little apprehensive. I did get a cute picture though!
Then I tried the slide. Dada would let me slide a little down to Mama but next time I need to wear pants because my legs kept sticking to the slide. All in all, this trip to the park was not the greatest but I am willing to give it another shot!
When we got home from the park, it was wrestle Dada time. I took him down! As you can see, my weekends are always filled with lots of excitement and never a dull moment!

Happy Birthday to Dada and BIG news!

Hi Everyone! This week we have some BIG news in the Hornbuckle house! I'll give you a hint...look at me in the picture above! I am so excited because I am going to be a BIG SISTER! Yes, that's right! The new baby is due March 27th. Mama and Dada told Gretchen and me a while back but we keep a good secret don't we?!?!? Mama had another ultrasound today and the heartbeat was 161, which is what mine was. We will find out if I will have a sister or brother at the end of October! I can't wait and neither can the rest of the family!
I thought that I would celebrate a little by hanging out with Dada and riding my elephant. I have so much fun with my elephant. Mama and Dada think that it is because I am such a huge Alabama fan!
Saturday morning was so great because Mama and Dada were both able to wake me up. Dada has been super busy this week (it is budget season-whatever that means) so I have not gotten to see him much. I showed off my heal stretches for him and Mama took pictures. I may be a cheerleader one day...who knows?!?!
Then I got dressed for the day in an outfit that Mimi bought for me and had fun playing with Mama's Tic Tacs and Prenatal Vitamins. They were like my own little maracas! I love music and this time I was able to make my own. I spent the night with Mimi and Grandpa that night because Mama and Dada when to Rome, Georgia to see Mr Andy's movie, Skiptracers, debut at the Rome International Film Fest. They said that they really enjoyed it and that he had a great turn out! Congratulations Mr Andy!
When I got to Mimi and Grandpa's house, I had a gift waiting on me. Ms Amy Robertson, who works with Mimi gave me a craft apron. I look so cute wearing it and it even matched my outfit! As you can see, even Maggie admired it! Thank you Ms Amy!
Then it was time for a little karaoke! I was jammin out to a little Itsy Bitsy and a little Mulberry Bush. Just a couple of my favorites. For those who are interested in my next concert contact Mama or Dada. They are my agents.
Then it was story time and as you can see, this was a comedy. It was so funny! I would read a little and then try to climb up Mimi because I wanted what was on the shelf behind her. That is why I am also known as Spider Monkey!
Sunday, I got up and went to church and it was wear you school colors day. There, I adopted an Elephant who's name is Alice. Funny thing is, if I have a sister, her name will be Alice as well. It will help me practice her name. I love my new toy but so does my sister, Gretchen, so we have to keep it in my bed.
This is me and my friend, Luci! She is really sweet to me and I feel so lucky to have an older friend that I can look up to. I feel really cool when I get to hang out with her!
After church, we met Mama and Dada at home because it was Dada's Birthday. We sang happy birthday to him and made him feel very special! We finally gave him a big picture of me to put on his desk at work. This was his first birthday to be a Dada to a two legged baby so I hope that I was able to make it extra special!
Mama even let me try a little of his birthday cake. She says that everyone need to have at least a bite or it is bad luck. My bite made me wish it was someone I knows birthday everyday! Happy Birthday Dada!!! Well as you can see, I was busy as usual and am super excited about the news! Also, check out my new video on you tube. I posted it today! See me next week!

Here comes the story of the hurricane!

This weekend was the Annual Skinner family trip. This year we went to the beach. We also went last year but I did not get to see much because I was still growing in my Mama's tummy! We were able to stay for two days but then we had to leave early because of Hurricane Gustov. I learned a new word though, evacuation. I hope I never have to hear that word again. Tantie Erin and Mr Fred had to leave their home too but luckily everything turned out okay for them.
This weekend I fed myself Beefaroni for the first time. As you can see, I did not do the best job but practice makes perfect. I thought it was real tasty! I love this real food stuff!
I really enjoyed hiding from everyone behind the game chest. I would poke my little head around the corner and play Peek-a-Boo with the people in the den! How much fun!
While I was at the beach, I started to not feel so good so Mama and Dada took me to a Doc-in-the-box. He was this really old man from Holland that was really weird. It was the only place open though. I had the beginnings of an ear infection so I got to take the yummy pink stuff again!
I was also very sensitive to my cousin, Rob's feelings. He was crying on Sunday and I crawled over to him, put my hand on his arm and smiled real big. I was trying to make it all better.
In return, Rob shared one of his soft balls with me. I like playing with his toys. It makes me feel grown up! After much deliberation, he let me play with the Cars Ball! That night I wore the cutest Alabama outfit but Mama did not get a picture of me in it! Luckily, Aunt Betsy saved the day and sent these to Mama. Alabama won! ROLL TIDE ROLL!
Also that night, Rob thought is was funny to wear my sunglasses! I don't like wearing them yet so I was happy to share! They even matched his outfit! So color coordinated!
At the Oasis, I loved being in the pool and floating around the lazy river. I even got to see Dada beat everyone in PIG! I also got to meet Miss Payton and her fiance, Mr Joey. I usually am shy around boys but not Mr Joey! He made me giggle! I loved going down the slide with Mama and Dada! Rob got to go down it himself but I am too young for that! Maybe next year! Right after this picture was taken, Mama and Dada took me back inside because I got sunscreen in my eyes. That really hurt! After I recovered, we decided that the best thing for us to do was to go home and I am really glad that we did. The weather ended up getting really bad! Even though we left early, we had a blast! I do not think that that I will be going back to the beach until Miss Peyton's wedding in June but I can't wait! Maybe then I will be able to slide all by myself!
I was reading over my blog and realized that I have not told you lately what all is can do and how big I am! I have two little teeth in the bottom center. They are not full size yet but they are getting there. I say Bye Bye and wave. I am actually really good at waving at people and clapping too! I will only say Mama when I am really upset and sometimes if you listen really hard you can hear me say Dada and Papa. I like to whisper them! I am able to pull up on anything and am starting to walk while holding things. I can walk all the way around the coffee table. I am eating anything I want now which is so exciting. I weight around 21 pounds and am 30.5 inches. I am really tall for my age but what else did you expect!
