Lions and tigers and...Giraffs?

This was a super fun week! Last Week I stayed with Nana and Pops until Wednesday night! Then they brought me back to Birmingham. They took such good care of me while I was sick and gave me lots of TLC. I think that is why I feel better. When I got home, I was so happy to see Mom and Dada! Mom said that I was really full of myself...whatever that means! I was pulling up on the outside of my exersaucer and I thought that it was just the funniest thing in the world. When I returned to school on Thursday, my teachers and friends were so happy to see me. I love going to school!

Friday, Independence Day, I went to spend the day and night with Mimi and Grandpa. To show my independence, I pulled up on the side of the crib by myself for the first time. When I told Mom and Dada about what I had done for ID4, they explained that ID4 is when we are supposed to celebrate freedom. I guess that I am very lucky to live where I live. When Mimi called dad to tell him, Mom and Miss Amanda quickly lowered my bed one level. When we went to Jim N' Nicks to pick up some ribs, we ran into a woman who's name was close to mine. Her name was Anna Harman...imagine that!
While I was playing at Mimi and Grandpa's, Mom, Dada and Miss Amanda cleaned the house and worked in the yard. It looks like a new house! Miss Amanda came in for a visit and was put to work. Thank you Miss Amanda! Mom got a little sad when she cleaned out my room because she put up a lot of my baby toys and and clothes that I have grown out of. She says that I am growing up too fast! I say that I can't wait to learn more everyday.

Sunday, I went to eat at Brio with Mom and Dada. This was the first time that I sat in a high chair at a resturant and I loved it. I ate saltine crackers, gerber stars and even some sourdough bread! When we arrived, they asked if I needed a childrens menu...he he! I think that they thought I was older that I am! I still do not have any teeth...I can't eat from a childrens menu!
After lunch, we went to The Birmingham Zoo! I saw the snakes, lions, tigers, kangaroos, monkeys, birds, alligators, giraffs, and lizards. There were no bears...hints the name! I think that I may be a little young for the zoo but Mom really liked it. I was more interested in sitting up like a big girl in my big girl stroller!
This has been the first week where I have not missed any school in a long time! It has been an adjustment not being surrounded by my parents and grandparents but the people at school said that I have been great this week. See Mom and Dad, nothing to worry about!

Today, Mom took me to school and I wore a dress that Ms Thagard brought back from Madagascar just for me. I feel so special wearing something that traveled halfway across the world! I look so pretty in sunflower yellow. I am becoming a girl of the world!
Last night, my sister was barking really loud so Dad went to check on her. When he stepped outside there was a copperhead snake on the back deck! It was really scary but at least nobody got hurt! I am very proud to have such a brave sister that protects us so well! Thank you Gretchen!
