Fun with Friends

Last weekend, Owen invited me over for dinner and play time! My parents and George tagged along. As you know, Owen is my best friend in the whole world so it was so much fun! I brought over Batman bracelets for us to wear. We started off with some play, then some snacks, then a delicious dinner of hot dogs and mac n cheese. The adults ate hamburgers a little later. By the way, Mama and Daddy were in the ED the night before because Mama had a kidney stone...2010 stuck again!
After dinner, we went out on the back porch to play. They have a table that has a tile edge that Owen and I ran around. I thought it was so funny because I was standing on a table. I know what you are thinking and yes, we were very careful!
Then we thought that it would be a good idea to rest for a few minutes and Miss Delphine was happy to have us on the couch with her and Sophie...where is Sophie you ask...why she is growing under Miss Delphine's heart as you read! She will be Owen's new little sister and George's playmate!
Then it was time to get ready for bed. Everyone thought that it was a good idea for me to change before we left in case I fell asleep in the car, which I did. George had already fallen asleep in the pack n play for a few hours! Owen has really cool slippers! After the pjs, we had a little more run a round time! Mr Tony had fun picking us up! We thought it was really funny. I do not really like boys but since I see Mr Tony everyday at school, I am not shy at all around him.
Then it was time for goodbye and so Owen and I gave each other a big hug! I was sad to leave but we will do it again soon! We are going to go to the beach with them in a couple of months and I can't wait! Thanks for a great night, Carters!
The next morning, we got up and went to the zoo. It was so much fun and the fact that I ran into Lexie was even better! We ran all over the place holding hands. Everyone thought that it was really cute!
We liked running up and down the ramp at the Hogs and also standing on the stump. We paused for a few photos though.
Then Daddy took one for the team, whatever that means, and rode the camel with me. I was not scared at all! I have a feeling that I am going to want to ride it every time!
That afternoon, we got a wild hair and drove to Tuscaloosa to see Nana and Papa. Mama was able to get a little more rest that way! We started off in the back yard to get some fresh pollen air! George is so good a walking now that he could even walk in the grass!
The next day, we got dressed and went to The Field of Dreams for some fun on the slides. Before we left, I got a few snuggles from Papa!
George got his first lollipop! Normally, we have to wait until our 1 year check-up but G's appointment was 2 weeks late! He ate every last bit of it! Nana made him sit in her lap though! I get to walk around with mine but it has to stay in my hand while I am moving!
George's 1 year appointment finally came...what a milestone! It seems like only yesterday that we were bringing that sweet boy home for the first time! He was so little then and now look at this precious red head!
Here he is in the midst of saying ball or "bauoo!" He is really talking up a storm! He is still using his inhaler a good bit so Dr Stacey wants to start him on Singulair. He now weighs 24lbs 6ozs and is 31 inches long! Can you believe that he started off 2 lbs lighter and 3 inches shorter and is now bigger than I was at 1 and the same length!
He got three shots and actually handled them pretty well! She said that he is right on target and was very proud that he is bottle free! Way to grow George...way to Grow!
After the appointment, Mama took George to her office to visit a while. Miss Vicki gave him a tootsie roll pop and Georgie was thrilled! He said that he could get used to all of this candy! He also loves facing forward now!
The next weekend, we went back to Tuscaloosa because Mama is helping Nana and Papa get there house cleaned up a little. It was time to go through all of Mama's high school and college things that were in her closet! We went back to The Field of Dreams and it was a beautiful day! George spent most of his time hanging out with Daddy...big shocker I know!
Papa and Nana had so much fun with us there! I helped Papa push George around for a little bit! George chugged his juice during the ride. Sha Sha and Miss Weldon came out to the park with us for even more attention!
After the park, we went back to the house for naps and when we woke up we all played in the backyard for a while. For dinner, we thought that it would be fun to eat outside! It really worked out well because George made a royal mess! I guess that is an understatement, huh?!?
A mess is easy to make with Spaghetti but I can use utensils really well so I remained pretty clean! Sha Sha and Weldon took time out for a photo-op with George and me! I remember them from visit to visit now, which makes things more fun! That afternoon, I helped Mama make strawberry cupcakes and they were "Alicious!" Papa brought me one after dinner and I ate it on my table outside! I really mostly ate the icing!
It was a really fun weekend playing outside! I was really glad that Sha Sha and Weldon spent the day with us and that we were in Tuscaloosa! I love going there, which makes my parents happy because they are huge "Roll Tide" fans!
